Governor Baldacci Welcomes Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall To South Portland

“The Wall’s” setting in South Portland could not have been more breathtaking.  With a panoramic view of Spring Point Light and Casco Bay as its backdrop, Governor John Baldacci welcomed “The Wall” to Maine.The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall is a 3/4 size replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C.

“Never will there be an offering of thanks that is large or grand enough to honor these patriotic individuals,” said Governor Baldacci of the veterans. “Their sacrifice is immeasurable, their gift to us is too great.”
